General information about SPICE SCL-kernels
===========================================

   In the SPICE system, Spacecraft Clock (or SCL) -kernel contains a
   set of information required to perform a mapping between Ephemeris
   time (ET) and spacecraft on-board time (SCLK).

   The spacecraft clock coefficient information contained in SCLK file
   can be manipulated by a collection of FORTRAN 77 subroutines to
   provide a transformation between Ephemeris and spacecraft on-board
   times. These subroutines are part of the SPICELIB library and can
   be integrated into user application programs. The SPICE system
   toolkit for a number of computer platforms or information regarding
   how it can be obtained is located in the SOFTWARE subdirectory of
   the main directory of this dataset.

   Refer to the SCLK.REQ document provided with the toolkit or available
   from the NAIF Node of PDS if SPICE toolkit is not included with
   this data set to get more information about conversion between ET
   and spacecraft clock times.

Odyssey SCL-kernel contained in this directory
==============================================

   This volume contains the following Odyssey SCLK files (only name
   portion of the file name is shown; the extension of all file names is
   ".tsc"):

       orb1_sclkscet*            Odyssey Spacecraft clock coefficients
                                 Kernel (SCLK) file generated by
                                 converting corresponding SCLKvSCET
                                 file produced by Spacecraft Team/LMA
                                 to SPICE SCLK format using MAKCLK
                                 SPICE Utility program. These files are
                                 created/delivered every time when LMA
                                 deliver new SCLKvSCET file (usually
                                 once every two-four weeks.)

SCLK File Naming Schema
=======================

   The Odyssey SCLK files naming schema is as follows:

        orb1_sclkscet_vvvvv.tsc

   where

           vvvvv is the file version (example: ``00005''
                                 for Version 5);

   If multiple versions of an SCLK file are provided, always use the
   latest version (unless earlier version is needed for some special
   reasons.)

Kernel File Details
===================

   The most detailed description of the data in an SCLK file is
   provided in metadata included inside the description area of
   the file. This information can be viewed using any text editor
   program.
